"Homemaker"
is one of the design classics of Post-War Britain. Produced by Ridgway
Potteries in Staffordshire, and sold exclusively in Woolworth stores,
the ceramic plates bear motifs based on actual pieces of furniture and
domestic equipment used in 1950's homes. Designed by Enid Seeney during
1956, and in production between 1958 and 1970, it is still relatively
easy to find today, although prices have risen dramatically for the rarer
pieces in recent years.
